Meet Janam Anand

Janam Anand is an advertising industry professional based in Miami, Florida. Her specialties include retail media and advertising, and she has over a decade of experience in the industry. Janam is passionate about driving growth for her clients through strategic media and analytical top-down strategies. She adores the arts, culture, and music, especially as they relate to her history. 

In November 2019, Janam Anand took her current position as Senior Director of eCommerce Strategy (Colgate-Palmolive). She is a founding member of a client-collocated agency team that drives digital growth for Colgate-Palmolive brands across essential Pure Play and big-box retailers. She has significantly increased the client’s AMZ share of voice by over 100% year-over-year by employing conversion-driving programmatic media strategies both on- and off-platform, engaging in beta testing with AMZ media partners, and investing in paid search to dominate the lower funnel. Janam led the launch of three disruptive oral care brands, AMZ-first, overseeing full-funnel go-to-market strategies and developing tentpole and seasonally relevant content strategies. 

About Janam Anand

Before this role, Janam Anand worked at Saatchi & Saatchi X as their Senior Strategy Consultant (Proctor & Gamble). In this role, she conducted end-to-end quantified financial analysis with a strong understanding of retail analytics. Janam regularly presented category-level Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) reports to CPG VPs, offering assortment strategy recommendations. She tracked category-level Average Order Value (AOV) and made basket-building recommendations weekly. By determining variable costs that negatively impacted Contribution Profit (CP) and identifying merchandising solutions to raise CP, she enhanced profitability.

One of Janam Anand‘s earliest roles was at Boston Consulting Group, where she worked as a Strategy Consultant (Gamma Team). As part of BCG’s Gamma team of analysts and management consultants, Janam Anand has worked on several analytics projects for CPG clients, effectively linking strategic goals with her client’s financial performance. She has developed a deep understanding of clients’ evolving consumer demographics and buying habits, implementing strategies to shorten the replenishment cycle.

Outside of work, Janam Anand has many interests and hobbies. She loves yoga, cooking, and spending time on the water. She’s also a writer in her spare time, writing about the things that matter most to her. This includes everything from her musical passion to her interest in history.

Janam Anand cherishes art and music, finding deep inspiration and joy in both. She has a particular passion for learning about the history and culture of Punjabi music. Janam delves into its rich roots and explores how it has evolved into the popular music we hear today. Her fascination with Punjabi music extends beyond mere listening; she enjoys understanding the cultural significance, the traditional instruments, and the influential artists who have shaped its journey. This love for music and art enriches her life, providing a creative outlet and a deeper connection to her heritage.

In addition to researching musical history, Janam Anand is in the process of learning more about her own history. She’s recently begun researching Sikh history and how it relates to her identity. It’s a part of her she has never had the time to learn about, and she’s hoping to fix that now.
